Tammy Stamps: Bio

Tammy Stamps is a new voice on the music scene with the release of her debut CD “Free” in April of 06. Inspired by her own life experience, she employs acoustic guitar to create simple, heartfelt tunes that engage her listeners to sing along. Her unique sound is an easy listen and has been described as “contemporary folk” filled with emotion.

Born in California, most of her roots are in Wichita, KS where as a fifth degree black belt master and Olympic contender she owns and operates a martial arts academy. Music has been her life passion and is now her second career.

She sang in local establishments for a number of years and will now be heard internationally with the inclusion of “No One Else” on “The Big Indie Comeback- Vol II” out of the UK. CD listeners have made requests to have her sing “You Make Me Whole” at their weddings and she now travels the US to share her music. A philanthropist at heart, Tammy has engaged in opportunities to share her music at a variety of events in her community.

Her music has received airplay on Matchbox 24 Radio in the UK, Radio Crystal Blue in New York City, Seattle, Marthas Vineyard Radio Station, Dallas and many other venues. Her song "I'll Never Leave" received airplay on Mvyradio.com on their Local Music Cafe out of Martha's Vineyard, along with "No One Else" on Radio Free Jackson out of Michigan and the title track "FREE" will be aired on Nette Radio out of Dallas, Tx.
The song "I'll Never Leave" hit the #1 slot on the Female Musician website in 2007 and 2008, is on the compilation Indiegrrl CD and was also played in Seattle Washington!

Master Tammy Stamps - Master Instructor

MARTIAL ARTS:
Master Tammy Stamps is a 5th degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and Choi Kwang Do. She has been in the Martial Arts for 30 years. Master Stamps owned and operated Stamps Academy of Taekwondo and Self-Defense for over 14 years in Wichita, Ks. Her competition spanned 10 years where she was a U.S. Team Alternate, 4 time U.S. Team medalist, 4 time U.S. Olympic Festival medalist, 4 time National and International medalist and State Champion many times over not only in Kansas, but Oklahoma as well.

She studied with Master Joon Y. Kim from Wichita, Ks. for 10 years and then began commuting to Edmond, Oklahoma where she trained under the watchful eye of Master Guy Poos, from Poos Taekwondo. Master Stamps opened up Stamps Academy in February of 1994 and was inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame for "Female Master Instructor of the Year" in 2005. She moved to Amarillo, TX in July of 2008 and is so passionate about Martial Arts that she wants to share it with people in a convenient manner of teaching private lessons in their home.

FALL PREVENTION PROGRAM FOR 60 YEARS AND UP
Master Stamps is also a Master Trainer in the Matter of Balance program. She taught classes for the Area Agency on Aging in conjunction with the Panhandle Area Health Education Center at WTAMU. She also taught a "Train the Trainer" program where close to 50 health professionals from all over the Panhandle were instructed in the Matter of Balance program so they could take it back to their communities and help the elderly have better, more productive lives.

This is a program designed for ages 60 and up. A class for individuals who have issues with their balance or with falling, this is a wonderful tool to help empower the client not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. It will aide the individual in beoming stronger and will enable them to stay in their homes for a longer period of time. It incorporates an exercise program designed to strengthen legs, arms, etc. to help in fall prevention.
